Travis Jones returns to practice, but five starters remain sidelined
The Ravens' defensive line received positive news Thursday as starting nose tackle Travis Jones (knee) returned to practice. Jones plays a critical role in Baltimore’s defensive front, which aims to bounce back Sunday in Kansas City after yielding 224 rushing yards to the Detroit Lions.
However, fellow starting defensive tackle Broderick Washington Jr. (ankle) is still not back at practice, and Pro Bowler Nnamdi Madubuike was ruled out by Head Coach John Harbaugh on Wednesday. Additionally, left tackle Ronnie Stanley (ankle) missed a second straight day of practice, raising concerns about his availability. If Stanley can't play, the Ravens may turn to veteran Joe Noteboom, who has started 35 games over his eight-year career.
Fullback Patrick Ricard remains unavailable, while outside linebacker Kyle Van Noy came out onto a side field in street clothes for a workout, indicating a possible return. With a banged-up defensive line, the Ravens will likely rely on veteran John Jenkins and rookie Aeneas Peebles to take larger roles against the Chiefs. The team also signed two defensive tackles, Josh Tupou and Taven Bryan, to its practice squad this week.
